Design 1

Based on the user feedback from the interview, I decided to add a section that guides users to search for what they're looking for. Users can search based on category, specific date, or location. I also added trending categories for a quicker search.

After testing this design, some users said the "What are you looking for?" section is good for users who know exactly what they want. But, some users said it would be nicer to show event posters because many users recognize the event from the poster. This design made them feel lost and didn't know where to start.

Design 2

After receiving feedback from the first design, I changed the "Trending Category" to "Just Announced". This section will suggest new events and make users feel they see new events everytime they open this app.

After testing this design, many users started scrolling to see new events, and the "What are you looking for?" section became less focused.

Solutions

Combined Search and Location

In order to help users find events quickly, I decided to combine "What are you looking for?" and search into one section. Because most users will look for a search icon when they can't find something.
